Dear Friends of Music and Mission!

A message from Rev. Sherrill, Executive Director

Thanks be to God for your generous support and partnership in the mission of David’s Harp. Together, we are proclaiming Christ through God’s gift of music and raising up a new generation of church musicians who are already beginning to lead the churches’ song for future generations.

Through your prayers and support, David’s Harp enjoyed a busy and fruitful 2022. We were blessed to unveil our first Liturgy Volume, “We Praise You, O God.”  With the help of Dr. Kenneth Kosche, we also released “Leading the Church’s Song – A Guide for Beginning Organists” which is now helping young, first time or returning musicians take on active leadership in the musical life of the parish.  As of November 7, everyone is now able to obtain our newest resource for piano, “Hymns of the Season Volume 4: Life From Heaven.”  This volume has an intentional “life affirming” focus.  Check it out!  We’re sure you’ll love it!

In addition to developing musical resources, this has been a wonderful year for establishing new centers of music education and outreach around the world. Your enthusiasm for this mission has been amazing, and we rejoice in the opportunities we have had to get to know you and partner together for this work. This year we have celebrated the opening of new conservatories in Topeka, KS, Concordia, MO, North Tonawanda, NY, and Freeburg, IL, and we are currently in conversation with over fifteen more churches actively pursuing the establishment of a center of music.  During any given week, over 300 students are being intentionally taught music through a David’s Harp affiliated site. You will also be pleased to learn this is the first year one of our conservatory students has formally become a Kantor of a congregation and is actively helping to establish a conservatory is his new area of service.  God be praised!

Join Us in Supporting the Mission

As the Lord prompts, your generosity is key to the success of David’s Harp! You are funding development of new resources and helping establish more and more centers of music where the Gospel is being proclaimed throughout the world as a new generation of church musicians prepares for service. Your increasingly generous donations, grants, memorials, and other gifts allow us to do even more in support of Christ’s mission through music! Please prayerfully consider how you might partner with us in this mission, and make your most generous contribution by December 31.  Visit our webpage at www.davidsharpmusic.org and donate today. “We’re seeing a lot of exciting growth! For the first time, we had children playing in the chapel service this morning. We’ve had inactive members starting their children in music instruction, and now those children are inviting friends to take lessons… This is really bearing fruit.”
